Schack Art Docent Training --

This is a  free event that is optional but highly recommended! It is held at the Schack Art Center in Everett.

EXPLORING MATH INSPIRED ART

THROUGH ARTISTS STUDENTS SHOULD KNOW

Presented by the Schack Art Center Education Committee

Come and see artists in action. Learn art projects you can do in the classroom with students. Six options will be offered and from those, participants will choose 4 of the 6 choices to attend. Each instructor will focus on a different artist whose work was influenced by math concepts while integrating the elements of art.

Five sessions will focus on a different Artist Students Should Know while discussing the art elements utilized: Leonardo da Vinci, M.C. Escher, George Hart, Piet Mondrian & Faith Ringgold

Session Six: How To Present a Work of Art

Saturday, November 18, 8:45am-12:15pm

Being involved in the Art Docent Program at Sunnycrest is a truly rewarding experience. Volunteers provide art enrichment within the classroom, a creative outlet for students, and teach children to appreciate the artist within themselves!

Our goal is to have at least one volunteer for each class. If you do not wish to lead a lesson, we encourage you to be an assistant in the class. No experience is necessary! Materials and some training are provided. This is a great way to encourage appreciation for art and imagination!

Previous Auction Art....

1st Grade - Winslow Homer Sunsets

In this project, the students used wax pastels to “draw” a seascape sunset. They then brushed over the art with water to blend the color and create a watercolor-like painting. The lesson plan below is courtesy of a fabulous Sunnycrest docent, Tracey Haack!
